Alma means soul in Spanish, and the whole project started with the rather difficult question of how you put a soul into a bottle.
The answer was to put the name inside it. ALMA is inscribed on the inner surface of the bottle, reflecting the idea that the soul resides within, while the product information remains on the outside. A simple way of playing with the contrast between what we see on the surface and what lies beneath it.
The bottle itself is faceted, so ALMA changes depending on where you are looking from, revealing itself differently from every angle. The idea also finds its way into the distillation process—cabeza, corazón y cola (head, heart and tail)—where the corazón is the precious part we are really after.
Everything else was deliberately kept to a minimum. After all, if you are talking about the soul, there isn't much point in adding unnecessary decoration.
