CHPE Libre was born from the eternal dispute between Chile and Peru over the origins and ownership of pisco. Rather than taking sides, the concept imagines an entirely new country where the two nations come together with one common purpose: to produce and drink pisco.
To create this imaginary territory, the principal pisco-producing regions of Chile and Peru were geographically joined, forming the map of a new nation: CHPE Libre—part Chile, part Peru, and entirely devoted to pisco.
The restaurant identity grew out of this fictional country, using humour and imagination to transform a long-standing rivalry into a shared celebration of pisco culture.
